"Girl's Night Out" Styled Shoot

IMG_4465.jpg

Oh, what fun this was! It’s always a treat to be involved in collaborations that aren’t strictly wedding-related. A girl’s night out at Marion Hatcher Center? Uhm, yes please, where do I sign up? Ohhh you mean you just want me to do the flowers…? Ok, I’m cool with that, too!

This was such a great collaboration between local businesses, which (I just have to add) all happen to be woman-owned &/or operated. The venue was perfection, models were b-e-a-utiful, organization was top-notch, and the photos are gorgeous! I hope you enjoy viewing the full set-up as much as I enjoyed putting all the blooms in those cute little golden, geometric shapes.

Woodsy Maternity Photos

mallory+ryan-1144.jpg

Just 3 weeks go we welcomed our newest addition into the world - a sweet baby boy.

S I L A S: Man of the forest; wood; forest.

We headed back into Hitchcock Woods before that to commemorate the final stage of our journey through my first pregnancy. What better place to document it than a place he is named for. The little guy tagged along with me to countless photo shoots and a couple of weddings before making his grand entrance. I thought now would be a good time to share some of the photos we took of the baby bump. Motherhood has been an entirely new world. I’m enjoying taking some time away from Honeycomb, but still eager to begin prepping for my 2019 couples.

One of my favorite things about the pieces from this shoot was that I gathered 4/5 ingredients for these pieces out of our good ol' backyard! I am all about using what's around you for something small like this. (There's nothing like spontaneously deciding the florist should probably have some plants in her pictures).

I N G R E D I E N T S:

Florida ruscus, mondo grass blossoms, juniper, jasmine vine, and gardenia branches. Humidity and mosquitos provided by Aiken, SC.

Light Blue Styled Shoot

My-oh-my, I am in love with how this turned out. I mean, you can't really go wrong with a beautiful venue, well-chosen decor, and pretty people, but the way this came together was near perfection. This shoot has also been published on The Southeastern Bride. You can find their feature here.

Not pictured: climbing over fences and horse gates to get to the ideal location on the farm for the dining experience I've only seen in my dreams. Okay, that might have been a little dramatic. I mean, there was some fence hopping... but, anyway.

I went for a light and airy feel in the florals for this one. Browse through the gallery below to see how it all came together.

April Showers Photoshoot

_DSC3569-Edit.jpg

Not sure what to do with all of your garden flowers when they start to wilt away for the season? Stick 'em on your face! Pressing flowers can be a great way to keep some color around once the fall foliage fades, and all it takes is some patience and a heavy book or fancier flower press you can make yourself or find online.

This was one of the coolest photoshoots I've been a part of. I spent a few weeks pressing and drying flowers before we met up, and was so happy with the result. Talk about bohemian chic! Any brides want to try this look for their wedding? Bueller... Bueller?

Botanical Wedding

stephens-1047 (2017-10-28T12_56_57.491).jpg

These photos are scattered throughout the site, but there's something special about seeing them all together. We took a buggy and botanical leap to set up the ceremony and reception space to reflect a nature-inspired and down-to-earth theme.

This wedding has also been published on The Overwhelmed Bride Blog and Aisle Society, but we kept a few photos hidden for ourselves ;).

I N G R E D I E N T S:
Lotus pods, craspedia, scabiosa pods, leather leaf fern, plumosa, seeded eucalyptus, white wax flower, dried zinnias, vintage amber and glass medicine bottles, and bugs of all sorts encased in acrylic (my apologies to those that were grossed out at the dinner tables).

Springtime Bridal Portraits

JPP_6826-2 copy.jpg

A few weeks ago I was asked to design a bridal bouquet and boutonnière for a styled photo shoot at Savannah Rapids, in Augusta, GA. Little did I know, I would be working with a real couple!

These two lovebirds absolutely worked it, and I'm overjoyed I was able to participate as they recreated their wedding day. I might be biased, but I think there's something so special about couples that can renew their commitment weeks, months, or years after the fact. It was colder down at the river than any of us expected, but you definitely can't tell from looking at these! *insert fire emoji here*

I N G R E D I E N T S:
Ohara & spray roses, anemones, wax flower, gunny eucalyptus, bear grass, and dusty miller & snapdragons from my garden. I loveee adding in home-grown elements!
