Modern White and Green Wedding

acphoto-3-33.jpg

Our bride had just a couple of requests for her wedding: white flowers, a single red rose, and lush greenery. Be still, my heart!! Her now-hubby proposed with a red rose and I was so happy to integrate this personal touch into her bouquet. If you have scrolled through my feed for long enough, you know that I love sentimental components like that!

This wedding was right up my alley as I love working with monochromatic palettes and deep greens. I am all for a colorful wedding but I love the clean and modern feel that this event offered. The gallery of florals is below. It features flower girl hoops, a staircase installation, memory dresser accents, light greens below gold centerpieces, and an absolutely gorgeous bridal party.

Fall Elopement at Lake Jocassee

IMG_5106.jpg

I’m often asked if I have an event minimum, and I always enthusiastically respond, “Nope!” If I did, I would miss out on beautiful experiences like this. I met this couple through another bride (her blog is coming soon!) and I’m so glad that I was able to provide them with their elopement flowers. I got chills when I saw these photos by Vanessa! Elopements have a close place in my heart because my husband and I got married by a friend, and then spent the weekend in Big Sur. Looking over that ridge out onto Lake Jocassee brought me back to that sentimental time in my own life.

Back to the flowers! I loved putting a fun twist on a traditional bouquet filled with garden roses by adding in some more modern greens like leucadendron and a seasonal pop of color through the poms and mums. Selina and Mike eloped on Halloween, so she wanted a little pop of orange or rust in the bouquet to match the occasion. Their emotive gallery is below, along with the few vendors involved in their intimate day.

Elegant Lavender Wedding

IMG_9215.jpg

This wedding took traditional elements and infused bright pops of varying shades of purple throughout the decor. It was such a pleasure to take on a classic and elegant theme this time around.

We used three sizes of centerpieces to add depth and differentiation to the reception space. I love doing this throughout a venue because it adds so much interest and gives your guests a little something more to look at. The tall centerpieces also allow them to see directly across to other friends and family opposite them at the table.

Bohemian Styled Shoot

SS-29.jpg

Confession time: I don’t really like trends. I don’t know what it is about them, but I’ve always strayed away from the “popular” or “in” thing when it comes to fashion, music, and, I’m going to say it, floral design! HOWEVER, I am always up to use an ingredient that I haven’t had the opportunity to work with yet, and in this place it was the trendy reed, pampas. I figured we would hop on the bohemian bandwagon when Nicole of Soulshine Photography asked if we wanted to take part in a southern boho styled shoot, and I am SO glad we did! I was thrilled to be able to use a lot of dried ingredients and even some live plants as I prepared this order. Be sure to scroll to the end of the gallery below to see en epic light-colored bouquet with a huge air plant in it!

This shoot has also been published on Bride Link out of Knoxville, Tennessee. This is our third publication since opening 2 years ago. Super exciting! As usual, you’ll find all of our ingredients for this shoot listed below, along with the wonderful vendors that participated, and last but not least, the gallery!

Pink and Plum Summer Wedding

TheAshmoreTheMerrier_2019_105.jpg

This wedding was far out of my box when I began styling the proposal for the couple. Pink, purple, white, and barely any greenery?! I was asking myself if they were sure they inquired with the right florist! Regardless of their answer, I’m so glad they chose me to design their bouquets and copper ceremony arbor.

I chose bright summer flowers based on the bride-to-be’s requests and loved putting together this colorful celebration of blooms to accent them on their wedding day. We used white peonies in her bridal bouquet to make it more full, since I will usually have the bridal bouquet be slightly larger than the others. The shape is also traditionally rounded, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring! We used a wide variety of flowers with different petal shapes to add texture. I love the result!

Colorful Styled Shoot

IMG_0946.JPG

Earlier this year I said I wasn’t going to do any styled shoots because I didn’t want to spend the money or invest the time into them. Fast forward 6 months to the present day, and I’ve completed two with two more on the docket. Eating my words because they are SUCH an excellent way to push yourself to design in a different style and/or use ingredients you normally wouldn’t.

We wanted something wild and colorful this time around. I am totally having a proud plant-mom moment looking back on these photos. All of the greens and vines are from my home garden. Hopefully next year I’ll have some bulb flowers and other blooms to add to my orders. Until then, I’m just going to sit back and admire how well all of these colorful flowers came together for these photos and how they are accented by my baby greens!
